Repatriation of illegal foreign nationals including Afghans to their homeland is continuing.

Thousands of Afghans are returning to their homeland on daily basis through Chaman and Torkham borders, thanking Pakistan for its generosity.

Apart from other measures for the dignified return of Afghans to their country, transit camps equipped with all facilities have been established in various districts for their temporary accommodation.

2959 illegal Afghan nationals, including 1092 men, 668 women and 1199 children returned to their country yesterday. So far, 235,821 Afghans have so far been repatriated to Afghanistan.

First Lady Samina Alvi says government is striving hard for women empowerment to ensure their participation in country’s development.

Speaking at a gathering after inaugurating Annual Charity Baazar organized by Pakistan Foreign Office Women Association in Islamabad on Saturday, she said we are also working to protect women from the breast cancer and helping people with disability.

The First Lady also called for extending maximum facilitation for the persons with disability and patients facing mental diseases. She urged media and international community to play their due role in creating awareness and ensuring welfare of the deserving ones.

It is pertinent to mention that embassies and High Commissions of various countries have setup stalls representing their culture.

A large number of diplomats and their family members are attending the event.
