Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the coalition government is diversifying energy mix by pivoting to renewables, which are key to energy security.
In a tweet on Wednesday, he said the idea is to gradually but surely increase our dependence on indigenous resources. This will provide relief to common man and save precious foreign exchange.
The Prime Minister said the federal cabinet has given serious consideration to an energy conservation plan to be approved after taking provinces on board. He said extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures. He added that its effective implementation will save precious resources and help address energy crisis.
