PM directs to expedite relief operation in flood-hit areas

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed for expediting rescue and relief operation in flood-hit areas of Balochistan and immediately shifting the people trapped in flood to safer places.

He issued the direction during a meeting with Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo in Islamabad, during which flood situation in the province was reviewed.

The Prime Minister directed to ensure provision of tents, food items, clean drinking water and cash assistance of 25,000 rupees to every flood affected family.

The Balochistan Chief Minister briefed the Prime Minister about the losses due to recent floods in the province. He also gave a detailed briefing about the ongoing rescue and relief operations in Balochistan.

Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Economic Affairs Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, and concerned senior officials were also present on the occasion.
